sharma took to Carnatic Music at an early age. His musical
lessons began with Vid. T.R. Sreenivasan of Mysore and his music
took a precise shape under his guidance of Sangeetha Kalaratna Vid. Neela Ramgopal of Bangalore.
He picked up the art of Khayal Singing as he is greatly influenced by Ustad Dilshad Khan
of Mumbai. And now he is equipped with the knowledge of both
music systems and emerged as one of the vey very few jugalbandhi
vocalist of the country.
His notable classical albums
include Ragam, Taanam Pallavi in Ganamurthy, Hemavathi,
Shubhapanthu varali and Gowri Manohari. He has also sung in
Sanskrit film MUDRARAKSHASA.
His recent Hindustani CD's
"Evening Flight" (Evening & Night Ragas) and Raagantharanga -
Raag ka Rang(Three ragas sung in both Carnatic and Hinudstani
Style) have made a big mark in the field of Hinudstani Music.
He is an approved artist of ALL
INDIA RADIO and DOORDARSHAN.
